Varun Gandhi, who is the son of Sanjay and Maneka Gandhi, hasn't been seen at important BJP meetings lately.
His views on pertinent issues, like the now-repealed farm laws, have sometimes been different from the party's stance.
The Gandhis had a short and pleasant meeting outside the revered shrine.
They exchanged greetings, and PTI sources described it as a warm encounter. Rahul Gandhi is a decade older than his cousin Varun. Rahul, the sources told PTI, was very happy to meet Varun's daughter, Anusuiya.

Even though the cousins don't meet frequently, they have maintained a cordial relationship.
Rahul Gandhi has been in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, for the past three days, while Varun Gandhi visited the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva with his family on Tuesday.
