While Indian representatives have witnessed their fair share of altercations, it is evident that lawmakers from various parts of the world can outdo them. From waterworks to chair-throwing, politicians have repeatedly elevated Parliamentary proceedings to an unprecedented level of chaos.

Waterworks and Torn Drawings! In the breakaway land of Kosovo, a brawl erupted in their Parliament on Thursday (July 13), making our lawmakers appear as innocent bystanders. It all commenced when an opposition lawmaker decided to inject a touch of refreshment into the proceedings by splashing water at Prime Minister Albin Kurti while he was delivering his speech. It rapidly escalated into a full-scale tag-team contest.

Talk about making a splash.

South Africa

Venturing to vibrant South Africa, we discovered that their Parliamentarians know how to throw a punch or two. During President Jacob Zuma's State of the Nation address in 2016, legislators from various opposition parties aimed to make it an unforgettable event. Scuffles broke out, accusations of racism were hurled, and fists flew as if they were confetti. It appears they took the notion of a "political powwow" quite literally, transforming it into a chaotic clash of titans.

Senegal

Welcome to Senegal, where Parliamentary debates can swiftly morph into a WWE showdown. Amidst a heated budget vote, tensions reached their boiling point. An opposition MP succumbed to temptation and struck a member of the ruling coalition. Chaos ensued as chairs were hurled across the chamber, insults filled the air, and lawmakers grappled with each other, leaving everyone in awe.

Ukraine

In Ukraine, it seemed that lawmakers treated their land reform discussions with excessive seriousness. When a controversial land reform bill was up for debate, things spiraled out of control. Pushing, shoving, and even water-throwing became the order of the day. It was as if they believed physical altercations could alter land ownership.

Taiwan

A Bill Worth Fighting For! In 2020, the Taiwanese legislative debate transformed into a full-fledged splash fest. As legislators discussed a bill that could overturn a former president's corruption conviction, things turned rowdy. Signs, water, and paper projectiles filled the air as lawmakers battled it out for their convictions.

Pakistan

Pakistan's National Assembly proves that politics can sometimes resemble a wild circus. When the opposition decided to shout and mock the ruling coalition just before the annual budget could be tabled, chaos ensued. Files, books, and even fists were thrown in a free-for-all frenzy. It seems the donkey in power brought out the animal instincts in their lawmakers.

Perhaps it's time for some peace, order, and good old-fashioned rock-paper-scissors to settle their differences.
