At least seven people were dead and many others wounded after a shooting incident in a Walmart store late on Tuesday night in the US state of Virginia, police said.

What happened: Police said that they responded to a report of a shooting incident at the Walmart on Sam’s Circle and as soon as they arrived they found evidence of a shooting, reported AP.
Over 35 to 40 minutes, officers found multiple dead people and injured people in the store and put rescue and tactical teams together, the police said.
Shooter killed: The gunman has been shot dead, reported AFP. "We believe it is a single shooter and that single shooter is deceased at this time," police said.
Family reunification site: Chesapeake police tweeted that a family reunification site has been set up at the Chesapeake Conference Center. This site is only for immediate family members or the emergency contact of those who may have been in the building, the tweet said.
