Netflix announces a bare-it-all docu-film on rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh

Streaming platform Netflix on Wednesday (March 15) announced a documentary film on the singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, which will bring to life the ups and downs in his life.

The documentary is directed by Mozez Singh and is produced by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain of Sikhya Entertainment. The banner the recently received an Oscar for 'The Elephant Whisperers'.

The docu-film will delve into the life of the singer-rappper, his rise in the singing industry, the troubles he faced during his journey, and his sudden disappearance at the peak of his career.

Billed as a "bare-it-all docu-film", the project will see Yo Yo Honey Singh deep-dive into life and sudden disappearance at the peak of his career that startled the industry and fans, garnering intense media attention.

"I have received tremendous love from my fans, and they deserve to know the whole story. This Netflix docu-film will give everyone an honest and sincere amount of my life, my upbringing, where I've been and my current journey to return stronger," Honey Singh said in a statement to PTI.

What did the makers say? Producers Guneet Monga said that she always wanted to explore Yo Yo Honey Singh's "tumoultous journey with fame" that had intrigued the entire country.

"We are excited for you to meet the man behind the country's rap and hip-hop music, and learn about the journey that led to this clout, and the controversy that followed," the producer said.

The documentary will release later this year on Netflix.
