With Meta Platform co-founder Mar Zuckerberg announcing his third child with wife Priscilla Chan, we take a look at the richest people in the world and their many lines of succession.
Zuckerberg took to Instagram to make the announcement on Wednesday, having already fathered his two daughters - Max and August - in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
Zuckerberg's daughters shall presumably inherit $53 billion in funds and assets from the billionaire. Which got us thinking... What sort of Succession-style sibling rivalries can we expect to witness in the future from some of the world’s richest?
As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, here are a few of the world’s richest people and their wide-ranging family trees:
ELON MUSK
The founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer at SpaceX; CEO of Tesla; founder of The Boring Company and co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI; Musk’s estimated net worth is around $262 billion as of September 2022, making him the wealthiest person in the world.
GAUTAM ADANI
The Indian billionaire tycoon is the chairman and founder of Adani Group, an Ahmedabad-based multinational conglomerate involved in port development and operations in India. Adani is also the president of Adani Foundation. As of September 2022, with a net worth of $158.3 billion, he is the richest person in India and in Asia, and the second-richest person in the world.
JEFF BEZOS
The American entrepreneur, media proprietor, investor, computer engineer, and now, commercial astronaut is the founder, executive chairman and former president and CEO of Amazon; as well as the aerospace manufacturer Blue Origin. He also owns the major American newspaper The Washington Post and co-founded the biotechnology company Altos Labs. Bezos has a net worth of around $136 billion as of September 2022.
BERNARD ARNAULT
The French business magnate, investor, and art collector is the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive of LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton, the world's largest luxury goods company. A centibillionaire, Arnault has a net worth of $137 billion as of September 2022.
BILL GATES
The American business magnate, software developer, investor, author, and philanthropist is a co-founder of Microsoft, along with the late Paul Allen. As of September 2022, Gates had an estimated net worth of $114 billion, making him the fifth-richest person in the world.
