In a significant development, Hungary's Wizz Air, the largest low-cost carrier in central and eastern Europe, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321neo aircraft assembled at Airbus' Final Assembly Line (FAL Asia) located in north China's Tianjin.
The delivery ceremony at the Airbus facility in Tianjin, held on June 27 (Tuesday), highlighted the growing significance of Airbus Tianjin and its role in meeting international demand while the aviation market is making efforts to recover from the Covid pandemic. The aircraft left the Airbus facility shortly after the ceremony for Budapest, via Almaty.

This milestone marks the first instance of an aircraft assembled in China being delivered to a European customer.
What’s interesting is that back in June 2018, the CEO of Wizzair told reporters in a “round table” in Budapest that the airline will change one third of its current fleet to Airbus 321 NEO in order to save energy cost and add 50 additional seats per flight.
