The world is still reeling from the shock of the mass shooting that occurred in Lewiston, Maine, US, where the suspect, Robert Card, fatally shot 18 people and injured 13 on the evening of October 25. Police have urged residents to stay indoors for their safety as the manhunt for the US Army reservist continues.
Despite launching a multi-state manhunt and deploying hundreds of law enforcement personnel, who have scoured waterways, forests, and small towns, more than 24 hours have passed since the mass shooting took place.
In a country with abundant resources like the US, the second day of the manhunt is underway.
According to a BBC report, the shooting commenced at a bowling alley in the small town of Lewiston just before 7:00 PM local time (11:00 PM GMT), resulting in the deaths of one woman and six men.
Within approximately 10 minutes, gunfire was reported at a nearby restaurant, Schemengees Bar & Grille, where eight more men were fatally shot.
Following this tragic incident, a massive manhunt was initiated for Robert Card, the alleged shooter.
Both the FBI and other federal US law enforcement agencies are assisting the local and state police in their efforts.

Governor of Maine, Janet Mills, has promised to do whatever is necessary to locate Card and to ensure that "whoever is responsible for this atrocity is held accountable and that full justice is sought for the victims and their families
