A Daler Mehndi concert, and what else is happening in Metaverse

2022 began with a Big Bang as Daler Mehndi became the first Indian singer to perform in the Metaverse. Here are 3 innovations in metaverse that have pleasantly surprised us!

The Metaverse is exploding, thanks to the pioneering stars and celebrities who have taken the initiative and created waves of difference in virtual reality. Here are 3 big innovations that have created a new path for people to follow in the Metaverse.

1. DALER MEHNDI'S FIRST METAVERSE CONCERT

Remember when you attended live Daler Mehndi concerts and you could dance in your seats and enjoy the performance in a buzzing environment? Well looks like you might have to wait for a bit to experience a concert that way again (thank you, Corona). Daler Mehndi just conducted a full-on singing Metaverse show on January 26 to celebrate India's 73rd Republic Day, and he became India’s first singer to ever hold a concert in the Metaverse.

The famous singer performed some of his top tracks during the concert and had you watched it live in the Metaverse, here’s what it would have looked like:

How did he conduct this?

Just like Facebook is a community space to connect, there are other exclusive Metaverse spaces which help users across the world to connect. In Daler Mehndi’s case, he used an app called Party Nite.

Party Nite is a similar space where, unlike Facebook where people can connect and post videos and comments, people can walk into a concert, move around and explore the party space - virtually.

As you log on to this space called Party Nite, you will be asked to create an avatar that resembles you and that will represent you in this party space. This avatar or character can move around, jump, and explore this space and you will get to control it from your home. Many of your friends will be able to log into this experience and you will be able to see them as other characters who are jumping alongside you in the arena.

But looks like many couldn’t get in because the server crashed when about 2,00,000 people logged in together... but Daler was happy regardless!

2. WEDDING RECEPTION AT HOGWARTS

When the government says 'no more than 100 people for the wedding', couples find a legal way to break the rules. They do this by inviting 1,000 people legally, in the Metaverse of course! Here is the innovative invite:

Dinesh Sivakumar Padmavathi and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy, a couple from Tamil Nadu are Potterheads who cannot have so many people attend their big South Indian wedding. So, they have chosen to invite 2,000 people to their virtual reception in style.

Guests are invited to attend a Hogwarts-themed party via their phones, tablets or laptops, which is specially created for the wedding using a Metaverse space called Tardiverse

The legal wedding ceremony will still happen physically with close friends and relatives in Tamil Nadu, but the couple will log in to join their reception on February 6.

The cost? Just Rs 1,50,000 to design, develop and host the one-hour reception. The event will see the newlyweds virtually address their guests, who will be able to explore the castle and customise their avatars' appearance and outfit.

But that's not the only special thing:

They have been able to invite two special kinds of guests - the ones who were alive and couldn’t attend physically. And the ones who have died and anyway could not be present physically. The groom’s father passed away last year and the couple have created a 3D avatar that looks like the groom's father. As experiencing the father's presence is present only in the Metaverse, so shall happen.

(I can already see so much food money saved because of the reception in Metaverse!)

3. WELCOME TO THE ''PARIS WORLD''

What are the chances of you getting to be a fly at Paris Hilton's party? Faint, right?

But worry not, because Hilton has created an online virtual world called 'Paris World' for visitors and her fans! They can now visit the replicas of her Beverly Hills estate and the famous dog mansion that she created. Fans can also stroll by the neon carnival wedding celebrations that she and her husband hosted earlier this year at the Santa Monica Pier in California. She says Metaverse is the ''future of partying'' and as a bonus, fans get to explore the island in a luxury sports car or a Sunray Yacht.

Talk about experiencing Paris's world in her own way!

Paris Hilton also recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show, where she launched her series of NFTs and well as she has a big heart, she gifted NFTs. Not only to Jimmy Fallon but to everyone who was a part of the audience on the show!

What is your favourite Metaverse move yet?
