WhatsApp is back again after an outage. But the memes are here to stay

Several WhatsApp users around the world reported the messaging platform being down on Tuesday (October 25). Users in India, Bangladesh, US, UK and elsewhere reported the same. Meta (formerly Facebook), which owns WhatsApp, confirmed that the messaging platform had been down for a while. But it seems like the platform is operating as usual again.

When: According to Downdetector website, WhatsApp was reported to be down between 12pm and 1pm IST today. But several users reported the outage till about 2-2.30 pm in India.

Meta said that it was looking into the issue. 

We're aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and and we're working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.

However, there is no official statement from Meta as to why it happened.

This is nothing new to Meta, as WhatsApp has faced the same issues in the past too. But this time, the outage was reportedly longer than usual. 

Reactions: As soon as WhatsApp outage was experienced, several users flocked to Twitter to confirm the news and check if they are the only ones to be experiencing the outage. 

What did you blame the WhatsApp outage on initially? Your WiFi? If so, you may owe your WiFi an apology.
