US diplomats ditch bulletproof cars for autorickshaws to get around Delhi

Four US diplomats shared their story of leaving behind bulletproof cars and choosing to commute to work in auto rickshaws. Diplomat Ann Mason says she was curious about auto rickshaws when she saw them in Pakistan, where she was posted earlier. When she came to India, she took the opportunity to own one. US diplomats aren't the only ones to take a liking to Indian vehicles, former German envoy Walter J Lindner once drove a red Ambassador car to the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
