Gautam Adani's family has pledged a whopping Rs 60,000 crore to charity to celebrate his 60th birthday. Adani will donate about 9% of his current net worth towards education, skill development, and healthcare in India.
This is one of the largest charitable donations made in India and might push him to the top of the philanthropy list for 2022. Adani will also surpass Azim Premji's 2021 donation of Rs 9,713 crore and 3 years' cumulative donation of Rs 18,070 crore.

ALL ABOUT THIS MASSIVE DONATION!
In April 2022, Adani had surpassed Warren Buffet to become the world's 5th richest person on the Forbes Billionaires list. Adani is also Asia's richest billionaire ever. Just like many Indians celebrate their birthdays with the idea of doing something grand, Adani, who celebrates his 60th birthday on June 24, has decided to throw a big surprise by pledging to donate Rs 60,000 crore towards education, skill development, and healthcare in India.

As per the Economic Times, the Adani family will manage this corpus in line with that of Azim Premji's. Adani will also hire sector experts to lead each initiative and might portion a part of this fund to Adani Foundation.
But why these three sectors when his business covers so many other aspects?
Through our work at grassroots, we have seen health, education & skilling as most effective enablers of people empowerment & equitable growth. Commitment by Adani Family bolsters our resolve to accomplish the mission of uplifting people by improving quality of life. @gautam_adani

Our experience in large project planning and execution and the learnings from the work done by the Adani Foundation will help us uniquely accelerate these programs.'
