The Rs 600-cr 'epic' Adipurush has created a lot of buzz all over social media, but for all the wrong reasons. The Om Raut-directed movie has been facing massive backlash from the audience since its release for its cringeworthy dialogues and an incurably loose adaptation of the Ramayana.

The Internet has been flodded with 'roasts' of the movie which have, in actuality, received more views than perhaps any bit of the movie. Be it Reddit or Twitter, comment threads have some of the most hilarious takes on Adipurush.

1. When it's war, there is always collateral damage, and this time it was Ayan Mukherji's Brahmastra as Internet drew comparisons between the dialogues used in Adipurush and those of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer superhero flick which became infamous for its repetitive cringe dialogues. 

2. When it comes to adapting a mythological epic like the Ramayana, one thing is for sure: the filmmakers are walking on thin ice. But, Adipurush certainly didn't care. 

Om Raut, the director of this diaster, said that his film will be a "Ramayana for the yougsters". The statement did not age well.

3. The production team were certainly vocal about this movie being for all of India. They seem to have got half of it right as the criticism and roasting transcended state and language barriers.

Here, a Twitter user shared a Bengali comment thread that has certainly gone farther in terms of creativity than anyone who worked on the making of Adipurush.

4. Another movie that Adipurush drew a lot of parallels with is the 2002 cult-classic Jaani Dushman. The star-studded box-office disaster has a special place in the hearts of Indians because of the constant supply of meme content it has offered over the years.

The VFX used in Jaani Dushman is clearly something that the audience would prefer over that of Adipurush. At least that is what Reddit thinks.
