July was an exuberant month, and our Instagram feed lit up with a diverse range of captivating content. From popular shows like Big Boss to eccentric cringe reels, and even the Barbiehiemer frenzy, Instagram was ablaze. Here are some of the reel trends that we believe must have reached your Instagram:
You read it right, didn't you?
This month, our Instagram feed was flooded with many 'cringe reels.' In case you're not familiar with the trend, here's the gist: these videos typically feature a 5-6-year-old boy acting (or rather, screaming). The boy, whose Instagram handle is @shahanishamarthlifevlog and describes himself as an 'Artist,' can be seen dramatically asking for water in an incredibly high-pitched voice, claiming he was feeling thirsty. However, something unexpected happens next. Want to know what happens? Check out the reel here:
The trend picked up steam as everyone put their own unique twists on the audio, and it was everywhere on the platform.
The month of July was truly painted pink, all thanks to the release of the movie Barbie. Regardless of how the movie was received, one thing is certain – the marketing team behind Barbie ensured that everyone knew about it, including the Instagram reels.
Though Barbieheimer's (Barbie and Oppenheimer) release grabbed the headlines, Barbie herself certainly made it onto our reels, with people dressing in pink, throwing pink parties, and more.

For our trending section on Instagram, we typically don't include audio, but it would be remiss not to mention the song "Laung Da Lashkara" from Akshay Kumar's Patiala House this time. The song not only became a trend as everyone danced to its beats but also managed to make some people tired of it as they started creating their own humorous renditions. Watch it for yourself:

By now, we all know that the humble tomato, once a staple in every curry, has become incredibly expensive. When we say expensive, we're talking about 200-300 Rupees per kg (farmers are making a fortune selling them). So why are we suddenly talking about tomatoes? Well, not only did it become a trending search, but 'tomato reels' were all over the place. People created funny reels and memes to mock the soaring prices of tomatoes.

When discussing Instagram in July, we can't overlook 'Puneet Superstar.' Known for his uniquely funny and witty reels, Puneet made national headlines when he became a contestant on Big Boss OTT. He etched his name in history by being the first person to exit the house on the very first day itself. How did it become a trend? His famous lines from Big Boss, "Jaisa mai chachuga mai vaisa kruga, Jaise meri marzi hai mai vaisa kruga... (I'll do what I want to do)," became a solid hit, and people started using the audio as a background voice for their reels.
Bringing back memories of 'Pooja, What is this behaviour?'"
