On Tuesday night, December 5, three Toronto movie theaters in Brampton, Vaughan, and Scarborough that were playing Hindi-language movies had to be evacuated after unknown substances were released by masked individuals.
According to PTI, approximately 200 people were forced to evacuate a Vaughan movie theater on Tuesday night after two individuals sprayed an unidentified substance during a movie screening.
This was one of three similar events that took place in Toronto, with all three theaters showing Hindi-language films.
Police in York Region reported that two masked and hooded individuals entered a Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan during a screening of Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal."
They then moved through the venue, dispersing a yet-to-be-identified aerosol irritant into the air. They quickly escaped before law enforcement could arrive.
York Regional Police investigators have identified two suspects from CCTV footage at the Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan.
The first suspect is described as a Black male, 5'10" with a medium build. He was wearing a black sweater, a black jacket with a white logo on the front right side, dark pants with a white stripe, and a black toque with a white logo on the front.
