India is making steady progress in its Asian Games 2023 campaign, with the nation already securing 11 medals, including 2 golds, and plenty of action yet to unfold.

Women’s Handball: India vs Japan

India began brightly, but Japan made a comeback and currently leads 29-8 with 15 minutes remaining.

Tennis: Men’s Doubles

Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni secured their spot in the next round by defeating Ignautius Susanto and David Susanto of Indonesia with a score of 6-3, 6-2 in just 57 minutes.

Tennis: Men’s Doubles

The Indian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri was eliminated from the tournament after a second-round loss of 3-6, 3-6 to Sergey Fomin and Khumoyun Sultanov from Uzbekistan.

Pistol Shooting: 25m Rapid Fire

Vijayveer Sidhu of the Indian contingent finished in fourth place in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men's Final.

India's achievements so far

Today has marked a significant start for India at the Asian Games 2023, as the country wins two gold medals in the same day. The most recent one was with Indian Women's Cricket team winning Gold after beating Sri Lanka in a well-fought final match. 

 

Befoire that, India won another gold in 10m air rifle shooting by the trio of Divyansh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Rudranksh Patil.

In addition to the group event, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar has also secured an individual bronze medal for India in rifle shooting.

India even recorded their first ever medal in the 25m air rifle shooting (men's) category with the trio of Vijayveer Sindhu, Anish Bhanwala and Aadarsh Singh bagging broze in the same category. 

The country has further secured two bronze medals in rowing in the Men's Four Final, with Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar, and Ashish Kumar as the contributors.

India currently holds the sixth position on the leader board at the Asian Games 2023, with China leading the standings.
