Tesla CEO Elon Musk spoke to the Russian President Vladimir Putin before tweeting out his controversial 'peace plan' about the Russia-Ukraine war, according to a leading political analyst and author.
In case you missed it, this is what the billionaire’s plans for solving the Russia-Ukraine conflict looked like:
What were Russia and Ukraine's Reactions?
Ukraine and its politicians vehemently opposed this, claiming that it supports Russia and nothing else. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also took to Twitter and conducted a poll of his own.
Check out his poll:
Russia's reaction: Reuters reported that Russia welcomed Musk's proposal.
Current scenario: However, according to Ian Bremmer, the president of the media channels Eurasiagroup and Gzeromedia, Musk spoke to Putin before pitching its 'peace plan' on Twitter.
According to Bremmer, at the time, Musk told him that Putin explicitly told Musk that he was "prepared to negotiate" under the conditions that Crimea remains under Russian control, that Ukraine remained neutral, and that Russia's annexations of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia were enforced the Vice Reported.
Bremmer added that Putin told Musk that these were goals he'd accomplish "no matter what," or else it would turn to a "major escalation" and said if Zelenskyy "invaded Crimea, Russia would retaliate with a nuclear strike on Ukraine"
Musk's Response: Musk, however, denied these claims and said: "Nobody should trust Bremmer."
He also justified himself when a Twitter user asked this question about the truth of this situation.
Musk has always been outspoken about various deals and diplomatic issues, and the Russia-Ukraine war is one of his favourite issues to talk about. He claims to be 'pro-Ukraine' and wants to 'avoid any chance of a nuclear war'.
Previously, on March 14, 2022, Musk challenged Putin in a "single combat with stakes of Ukraine."
