The woes of Air India seem far from over. Even as the airline gets policies in place to avoid another pee-gate, a woman has found a stone in her in-flight meal on board an Air India flight.
What happened: BBC India YouTube head Sarvapriya Sangwan was on board Air India Flight AI 215 from Delhi to Kathmandu on January 8. She was served lunch on the flight that came with a nasty surprise. There was a small stone in the meal that Air India served to her.
Sangwan, understandably, took to Twitter to voice her displeasure. She also said that she had informed the crew of the same.
Air India apologised to her soon after and said that they were looking into the matter.
Twitter speaks: Twitter users joined Sangwan in criticising Air India for the 'unacceptable' in-flight meal.
While someone brought up the JRD Tata standards of operations, others asked Sangwan to file a consumers complaint.
Air India's fortnight of horror: Air India is currently battling complaints on several fronts.
On the one hand, it needs to respond to the showcause notice sent by the DGCA for the November 26, 2022 incident on its New York to Mumbai flight; it is also revisiting its liquor policy after the recent scandals.
The November 26 incident involved the former Vice-President of the India Chapter of Wells Fargo, Shankar Mishra, allegedly urinating on an elderly woman on the flight from New York to Mumbai. Mishra was arrested on January 8 and sent to 14-day judicial custody.
