In 2023, AI has become the talk of the town, and with the year coming to an end, it would not be wrong to say that we are on the verge of an AI revolution. We have seen everything from AI completing our assignments to AI anchors reading out the day's news. But out of all the features that AI is providing to humans, AI-generated songs are surely one of the most interesting ones. At least, as far as people having fun is concerned.

The viral trend

We Indians love giving our desi tweaks to everything. So, when we saw what AI voiceovers can do, we did not shy away from a little experimenting. Now, let's take an example, what would the world's most expensive collaboration look like?

Well, according to Amarjit Singh AKA DJ MRA, it would be filled with singers from Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Drake, Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Atif Aslam, Arijit Singh and special appearances from our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and even Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

And what will they sing? Arijit Singh's Channa Mereya.

Now, if you think you have heard everything, wait for it. DJ MRA has so many AI remixes, from MS Dhoni singing Falguni Pathak's Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi to all of our favourite cartoon characters singing, Millind Gaba's viral song, She Don't Know.

'Everyone's experimenting'

Now, DJ MRA is not the only one who is doing such experiments with AI, and turning it into a song. Due to the advent of free tools that can help you to convert any song into an AI version with your favourite singer, a lot of people are experimenting with it, and of course they are posting about it on social media.

Here's one by Travis Scott, if he was born in Haryana. Yes, you read that right. The creator took a popular Haryanvi song, and created an AI version in Travis's voice. Listen (at your own risk)

World's first AI singer

Last week, Anna Indiana, a fully AI-generated singer-songwriter, faced widespread criticism online after releasing her debut song, Betrayed By This Town

In a post on X, Indiana revealed that every aspect of the song, including the key, tempo, chord progression, melody notes, rhythm, lyrics, and even her image and singing, was generated using AI.

A critical look

AI tech has the power to shake up how we make music. However, it is also important to think about issues such as the impact it will have on copyright, creativity, and plagiarism.

Experts believe that it is important to keep a good mix of AI and human creativity as music production keeps changing.
