Sad how it's okay to say 'dyslexic' in Bigg Boss

During the "Bhoot Bangla" task in the last night's episode of Bigg Boss 9, Keith Sequeira was busy playing the "sanchaalak". A job that required him to mind everyone's business while everyone minded their own business. The luxury budget task required the ghosts to get reactions from the opposite party. For the ghost team to win their task successfully, Keith had to actually see the reactions from the opposite party. Being blessed by a pair of eyes like any other human being he saw some reactions while he missed a few.

While strategising their next move, the season's latest wild card entry, Gisele said that Keith couldn't count properly, and that he was "dyslexic". Priya started by politely explaining to Gisele the complete misuse of the fact that the word actually meant a sort of learning disability and that it wasn't fair to use it. Even dyslexic kids or adults could be watching the show. Citing Priya's opinion as a way to hog TRPs; her being a teacher or her trying to take a 'social stand' Gisele created a ruckus. Turning the very fact on its head Gisele made the whole thing about herself loving kids.

Gisele's opinion about Priya's stand is what largely happens both in our real and virtual lives. How many times do we try and stop others from making the wrong use of the word f*ggot on the internet? Or the times we call a male hijda (eunuch), implying that he's not man enough to accomplish whatever's expected of him. Or those times when you call the girl sitting behind you a slut, because you manage to find some fault with her clothes, cleavage or even her attitude.

Gisele justified her actions by the courtesy of her anger. What is it with people that they believe, anything one does while one is angry is justified. Just because it is backed by an instant barrage of emotions, anything and everything goes. That didn't end there, as she also took a moral high ground by stating how she was better off than Priya and the others, because they abuse verbally while she doesn't. Gisele only attacks below the belt and shows how insensitive she can be.

Honestly, Gisele was probably right when she told Priya that these sort of strategies will work for her in Bigg Boss Australia, not the Indian audience. In a country where a lynch mob can take the life of a man with anger caused over rumours, Gisele's actions are mighty right.
