Bigg Boss 9: How Mandana stole the spotlight from Salman on his birthday
Yesterday's episode was a rollercoaster ride, and not one of those fun kinds but an uncomfortable one. One would think that on Bhai's birthday, the spotlight would be on him, sadly this time as well, Mandana Karimi stole it from under his nose, and taking full credit for whatever TRPs the show could manage last night.
Certainly the noisiest episode of this season, it started with Nora and Gizele hanging onto the whole Sidekick and Sidechick argument from last week. The two actors (and artists/performers as Nora classified her and Gizele), may not have cordially resolved their differences, but it certainly educated us, the audience, in what these two English slangs meant. Far from cordial, it was a full blown spat that brought out Nora's no-nonsense attitude in front of us.
Salman's birthday is a national event, therefore, it is no surprise that the housemates would celebrate it with full vigour. Bhai was surprised with a dance performance to some of his memorable Bollywood songs and later he joined the group to cut a cake, sketch for them and also take back one of the nominees.
Gizele, who in her short stay in the house failed to grab our attention except when she would occasionally crib and cry, was chosen for eviction this week. We would have missed her, if there was any lack of drama in the house, but sadly others can play her part equally well.
As a gift, Salman decided to return all those personal belongings of the housemates that were earlier confiscated by Bigg Boss. Mandana, who seemed to be furious at people taking her stuff, decided to retaliate by turning violent against Priya, leaving her and others shocked.
Mandana displayed her frustration by chucking things at Priya, not once but twice. The act was condemned by every housemate however, for Priya this wasn't enough. She went and threw Mandana's belongings from her bed.
Acting like a spoilt toddler, Mandana chose to continue screaming and throwing a tantrum. The housemates, who did not want anything to do with Mandana's unpredictable mood swings, chose to confront her. Keith came up with a sensible idea of boycotting the model turned actor. Suyyash, the house captain, refused to let Mandana take her belongings given back by Bigg Boss.
Just when we thought Mandana had chosen to take the peaceful route by staying in the shadows, she surprised us all by unleashing the devil (self-titled) within herself. As Mandana Drama begins yet again, we need to see how she will be able to wriggle out of this situation and bring the ball back into her court as she does each time.
