Central Board for Film Certification's new chairman Pahlaj Nihalani is on a purification drive. He is an ardent Narendra Modi fan and believes he needs to sanitise films as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. He wants to rid cinema of double meaning dialogues and abusive words. He has ordered that words like 12-letter words like masturbation be removed with the four-letter words like you know what.
Of late, Hindi cinema got a little more real with film scripts started sounding like how characters speak in real life. Policemen in Anurag Kashyap's films would speak in the language that policemen often use. So were the characters from the street. Life is not only about foreign locales and song and dance.
Pahlaj Nihalani himself has never believed in double entendres. As a producer, his films had triple-meaning dialogues. The song sequences had no meanings at all, they were simple portrayals of love-making positions that should come with a warning: Do not try at home if you do not want to end with physical injuries.
Here are six videos from his two films. Please feel free to be disgusted.
