Why Luke Skywalker as future Avenger is my worst nightmare

Luke Skywalker could be an Avenger in future? No. This vomit-inducing nugget isn't a figment of my vivid imagination.

The brain behind Marvel characters, the legendary Stan Lee himself said in an interview with The Big Issue, "If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they'll find a way to do it... That might be fun, all of a sudden Luke Skywalker is an Avenger!"

As much I love Lee and the characters he has created, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is flabbergasted.

So sir Stan, please take note.

My seven reasons why the Force shouldn't meet Thor's hammer.

1. Star Wars is the Skywalkers' family saga: It is a "space opera", as filmmaker George Lucas himself put it eloquently in a recent interview with Charlie Rose. If Disney fuses DC's space opera with Avengers and the Marvel universe, we will lose the very essence of Star Wars.

2. A total mess: Good luck explaining how the Force works in a world of supernatural beings like Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Or how Thor's hammer works in the same world as Luke Skywalker lives in, who could be the most powerful wielder of the Force. Don't get me started on the X-Men.

3. Dealing with Iron Man: Tony Stark's Iron Man is an arrogant and pompous prick. How's that going to work out with Luke or the new Jedi Rey? Will they use their Jedi Mind Trick on Iron Man. How idiotic would that be?

4. Luke Skywalker versus Hulk: It won't be anything new because this sort of face-off is a given with the Avengers, as they turn on each other from time to time. Would I like to see Skywalker's lightsabre cut through the Hulk like butter? I bet even Mark Hamill and Mark Ruffalo won't be up for it.

5. Sith-lord Thanos? In Disney's Star Wars-Avengers crossover, Thanos will supposedly be the bad guy. So, will the fictitious Thanos be a Sith lord?

6. Marvel's fixation with morally-correct heroes: The really-right guys are way too many in number in the Avengers universe. Read: Captain America. How will Skywalker or a prospective Jedi ever fit in?

7. Fear George Lucas: No one wants the good ol' Spidey saying, "May the Force be with you". Lucas will probably slit his throat. We already know he's quite bitter that Disney didn't incorprate his ideas in the Episode 7. This will certainly invite his ire.

In a nut shell, Star Wars was conceived as fiction with the core idea for kids to know the good from the evil.

And it was Marvel that gave the world its original comic characters. Though pure fiction, they were true to their basic design.

Both the franchises are fun. But mixing up the two entirely-different galaxies is a downright outrageous idea.

There's a reason why the Star Wars' opens with, "A long time ago, in a Galaxy far far away."
