How Jacqueline Fernandez set IIFA on fire and more

Suite deals, fashion hits and thrilling auctions, we summon the entire gamut of glory and glamour from the world of luxury. It spells ethereal style, vintage cars, private art collections and personal shoppers.

Fashion

Tony Awards: Jennifer Lopez

Taking a break from her usual dare-to-bare mantra, Jennifer Lopez chose to go ethereal in her voluminous strapless Valentino gown.

Everything about the look, from the Harry Winston jewellery to the Jimmy Choo clutch was perfectly accessorised and the she picked the right shade of blue that wasn't too dark to spell winter and yet worked well for a bright summer evening. The icing on the cake however was her 70s hairdo.

IIFA Awards: Jacqueline Fernandez

She's got the body and she's not afraid to flaunt it. Jacqueline Fernandez stole the thunder in her Indo-western outfit by the ever-reliable Anamika Khanna.

The silver bustier and white skirt combination provided quite the contrast with the green carpet at IIFA and her sheer cape added that touch of finesse. Going easy on her jewellery and hairstyle, she certainly let her flat abs do all the talking.

Art

One of the largest private collections of Jamini Roys (1887-1972; the father of Indian modern art) will be showing at the prestigious Museo delle Culture in Lugano, Switzerland.

These 70 odd works belong to Dr Nirmalya Kumar, professor of Marketing at the London Business School and Member of Group Executive Council Tata Sons. He has served on the South Asian Acquisition Committee of Tate Modern. This will also be the first ever museum show of Dr Kumar's collection of Jamini Roys.

With two glamorous and highly desirable pre-War Rolls-Royces, with connections to British and Indian royalty, on offer by H&H Classics at its forthcoming sale, here's your chance to own a sweet ride. The sale will be held at Burghley House, the home of the Marquess and Marchioness of Exeter.

The first is a 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II bodied in extravagant and elegant Sedanca De Ville style by Windovers. Records suggest that it was owned by Shri Ranjitsinhji. Maharaja Jam Sahib, who played cricket for England first commissioned the car with tiger shooting in mind but died before receiving it. An unusual feature of the car's distinctive lines is the wraparound rear window treatment commonly seen on "Maharaja cars" used for hunting tigers. The two-tone Rolls, a winner of the prestigious Cannes Concours d'Elegance, could fetch up to £90,000.

The second royal Rolls is a 1923 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and carries distinctive and unique shooting brake bodywork by Barker, personalised by the then Prince of Wales, later to become King Edward VIII and fitted to a car used by him on his Scottish estates. Some even suggest that the car's black blinds, unusual in such a vehicle, may have allowed the Prince to smuggle Wallis Simpson out of Balmoral. It is estimated to fetch between a princely £100,000 to £120,000.
