Your favourite Maggi is costlier now. Will you say goodbye to your forever love?

A childhood without Maggi is incomplete. Perhaps adulthood too. We all have multiple memories of Maggi: cooking it at midnight, experimenting with it, feeling proud while carrying it in the school tiffin box or making it to fill our stomach towards the end of the month.

One thing that has always remained constant was the price of Maggi. The affordable price made it a go-to food for every age group. But but but... we have a heart-breaking news here.

Nestle's Maggi prices are up by 9 to 16 percent. So, now the Rs 12 packet, which was for Rs 10 for more than a decade, will cost you Rs 14.

The 560 gram packet with 8 packets will now cost you Rs 105, which was earlier for Rs 96.

HOW MAGGI TRICKED US

Maggi and Rs 10 were synonymous with each other for as long as we can remember (for a LONG time, actually).

The Rs 10 price stayed intact for quite long. But if you pay attention, after a few years, the Rs 10 packet was suddenly not enough. There was a change in weight.

In order to replace your one-time meal with Maggi, now you had to cook one and a half packets, or add a side snack to it.

By not changing the price, Maggi remained a constant in our lives (unlike rest of the things and people), and still managed to increase their sales by decreasing the quantity.

But now seems the worst case scenario.

First, they changed the price to Rs 12, and now Rs 14. So, now you get the same ittu si Maggi for Rs 14.

Basically, one time meal = 2 packs of Maggi = Rs 28. How unfair is that!?

There are other alternates like Yippee (which is still for Rs 10), but you know Maggi is, well, Maggi. The only constant.
