Bengali actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay marries partner Piya Chakraborty in Kolkata

Renowned Bengali actor and director Parambrata Chattopadhyay has tied the knot with his partner Piya Chakraborty at his residence in south Kolkata in an intimate ceremony, attended by only a select group of close friends and family members. Piya Chakraborty is a mental health activist and social worker.

• According to a report by Calcutta Times, popular Bengali actor Parambratta Chattopadhay tied the knot with long rumoured girlfriend Piya Chakraborty today in a registry marriage.   
• In the recent past, there were widespread rumours about the now-couple’s relationship, which were all initially denied by the actor. 
• Personalities like Bengali director Aritra Sen and psychologist Ratnaboli Roy were among the attendees at the “close-friends only” wedding.
• The first rumours about Parambrata and Piya's relationship began after Piya's divorce from popular Bengali singer and composer Anupam Roy in 2021.
• Rumours also said that Piya and Anupam's divorce was influenced by her relationship with Parambrata, which Parambrata denied again. 

• Prambrata took to Instagram to share a few shots from his and Priya's registry marriage to announce their new life and mark an end to all the speculation and rumours. 
• The actor used two lines from TS Eliot's popular poem The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock in the caption.

• Parambrata and Piya supposedly maintained a two-year relationship, although they never publicly confirmed it.

• Piya Chakraborty, associated with an NGO, was previously married to composer-singer Anupam Roy.
• Parambrata, meanwhile, was romantically involved with Dutch national Ike Schouten.
• Rumours said that their respective relationships crumbled when Parambrata and Piya fell in love with each other.

Parambrata and Piya are expected to host a wedding bash for their friends and colleagues sometime soon.
