Suchwita

  • Suchwita stands for 'time to get drunk with SUGA' in Korean. It features the singer engaging in deep discussions about music and other topics with special guests while enjoying drinks.
  • The show has also featured other BTS members as individual guests in various episodes.
  • RM, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, and Jungkook appeared in episodes 1, 7, 12, 14, and 15, respectively.
  • V will make an appearance in the upcoming 18th episode of the show. The teaser was dropped on September 4 giving fans a glimpse of the episode.
  • As fans eagerly await V's album, Layover, his appearances on various variety shows have been closely watched.
  •  Suchwita's 18th episode will be released on September 11 at 10 PM KST (Korean Standard Time) or 6:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time).

South Korea's drinking culture

  • Talk shows where hosts and guests drink, chat, and eat have been a long-standing and well-known concept in South Korea, which reflects a lot about their drinking culture.
  • South Korea's drinking culture is all about coming together over a variety of alcoholic drinks, like soju, beer, and makgeolli. Friends, colleagues, and even strangers, gather to share stories, laughter, and experiences.

  • Respect and etiquette are crucial while drinking, with people traditionally pouring and receiving drinks with both hands.
  • The younger or lower-ranked person often turns their head away when accepting a drink from someone older or higher in status, emphasising hierarchy and politeness.
  • Food, known as "anju", is also a big part of South Korea's drinking culture.
  • It can range from simple snacks like peanuts and dried squid to more elaborate dishes like fried chicken or grilled pork belly.
  • The choice of anju compliments the alcohol and enhances the overall drinking experience.

South Korea loves its drinking chat shows. These shows involving celebrities often give fans an unscripted glimpse into the lives of their favorite stars.
