A $1M budget ‘BARBENHEIMER’ movie is in the works.
The film follows Dr. Barbenheimer, a scientist doll living in Dolltopia, who tries to take out humanity with a nuclear bomb.
When Band revealed the movie's quirky plot, it definitely caught the attention of netizens and created a considerable hype all over social media.
The film is currently up for sale at the American Film Market and centres on Dr Bambi J Barbenheimer, a genius scientist doll residing in Dolltopia, a paradise of perpetual summers and beach bashes.
Charles Band openly acknowledges that he's capitalising on the Barbie-Oppenheimer rivalry and the social-media buzz.
"It’s 100% true, but it’s also an opportunity to have fun with the bizarre coupling of these two movies and the combination of Barbie’s vibe and the darkness of Oppenheimer. You mix that together and you have such an opportunity for dark humour."

Band has created movies in horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres, but they weren't always well-received and didn't show everywhere. So, he started Full Moon Entertainment to make budget-friendly fantasy films that went directly to video stores, skipping theatres.
About Barbenheimer the movie
As per Band, the narrative of Barbenheimer centres on Dr Bambi J Barbenheimer, a scientist doll residing in Dolltopia.
Disturbed by how humans treat dolls, she sets out on a mission to detonate the real world with a colossal nuclear bomb.
"It’s so silly, but it seems like every other feature is dark and depressing, and it’s like, God, we need a little humor going into 2024,"
- Band told The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie is promoted with taglines like "D-Cup, A-Bomb" and "they got great looks and a super attitude! Oh, and now they've got the bomb".
