The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is currently banking heavily on the upcoming release of Deadpool 3. The movie is poised to feature cameos by several popular Marvel characters, promising a significant fan service.

However, with numerous leaks already circulating online, the movie might have lost its crucial surprise element

Too many leaks already

  • Since the movie's announcement, Marvel fans have eagerly awaited Deadpool 3.
  • Following Ryan Reynolds' (Deadpool) revelation on social media that Hugh Jackman, the original Wolverine actor, will be returning in Deadpool 3, the internet has been abuzz with speculation regarding Wolverine's role in the MCU.
  • Ever since the initial set photo emerged online, showcasing both Deadpool and Wolverine in their costumes, leaked set photos have continued to surface every other day.

  • Many characters like Sabertooth) and Toad from X Men (2000), pivotal props and easter eggs have already leaked online.
  • This has a large portion of the fans concerned whether these leaks will actually ruin the surprise element and true essence of the movie.

Are these leaks good?

  • The MCU has encountered leaks before, posing an ongoing challenge that Marvel has consistently addressed.
  • A notable instance occurred during Spider-Man: No Way Home when an on-set photo revealing all three Spider-Men—Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland—surfaced online, inadvertently spoiling the movie's major surprise.
  • Whenever there's a leak, Marvel authorities consistently deny it outright, only for it to eventually be proven accurate.
  • The intriguing aspect arises when considering Marvel, especially Kevin Feige, who has repeatedly emphasized the studio's absolute commitment to project secrecy. Deadpool 3 contradicts those claims directly.

Ruining the movie?

  • Movies like Deadpool 3 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, heavily reliant on cameos and fan-service, are particularly impacted by online leaks.

  • The revelation of major characters may spoil the surprise factor that these cameos aim to deliver discreetly.

  • Presently, there's an abundance of information available about Deadpool 3, potentially affecting its box office performance—a circumstance Marvel can ill afford, especially after previous disappointments.

  • Deadpool 3, initially scheduled for release on July 26, 2024, was delayed due to actors and writers' strikes and is slated to be the sole MCU release of 2024.

  • Consequently, the stakes are higher for the film, giving Marvel more reasons to address these leaks.
