On August 1, a lawsuit was filed against Lizzo by three former dancers, alleging sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment within her production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. Now, in a further development, six additional individuals have come forward, echoing allegations against the American rapper, according to the plaintiffs' attorney.
In the preceding month, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez lodged a series of charges against the Grammy Award winner. These encompassed claims of sexual, religious, and racial harassment, alongside charges of a hostile work environment, disability discrimination, and false imprisonment.
Seeking reparation for the distressing experiences endured, the plaintiffs have submitted claims for damages, encompassing unpaid wages, loss of earnings, deferred compensation, employment benefits, emotional distress, medical expenses, and attorneys' fees.
Prompted by these revelations, another six individuals have now stepped forward, each sharing their own accounts of alleged misconduct by Lizzo.
These six had been associated with Lizzo's endeavors, including her Amazon Studios reality show, titled "Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls."
Ron Zambrano, the plaintiffs’ attorney, told Entertainment Tonight, "We have received at least six inquiries from other people with similar stories since we filed the complaint." He further added, "Noelle, Crystal and Arianna have bravely spoken out and shared their experiences, opening the door for others to feel empowered to do the same. Some of the claims we are reviewing involve allegations of a sexually charged environment and failure to pay employees and may be actionable, but it is too soon to say."
In response to the allegations against her by Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, Lizzo took to social media and called these claims "outrageous" and "sensationalized".
"These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticised," she wrote.
In light of Lizzo's response to the allegations, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez engaged in a discussion with Entertainment Tonight. Crystal Williams remarked, "For me, it's intriguing to openly share the trauma we underwent and the pain caused by her actions, only to have her essentially attempt to discredit us."
The case management conference for this matter is scheduled for January 26, 2023.
