Jawan first reviews on X by Shah Rukh Khan fans get blockbuster trending online

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan has released in the theatres and it is expected to become a box office sensation, just like Pathan, SRK's earlier release. The movie was released in some places as early as 2.15 am. Even before the film's release, it made Rs 51.17 crore worldwide in advance booking. 

The film directed by Atlee also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles.

Jawan tells the story of a vigilante who turns to a group of women to help correct the ills in society. Shah Rukh Khan plays a double role in the film. The movie will also see Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra in significant roles.

SRK'S co-star from Pathan, Deepika Padukone is making a special appearance.

SRK fans celebrate outside theatres

  • SRK fans can't keep calm as Jawan released. Videos are going viral on X showing fans making the Dahi Handi pyramid outside theatres in tribute to SRK's Jawan. 

  • Others burst confetti outside theatres, while holding up posters of the movie. 
  • Despite the movie being released on a weekday, SRK fans say they have managed to make it into a holiday celebration. Theatres across the country have been buzzing with crowds of movie goers.

  • People celebrated not just outside the theatres, but also inside the theatres. 

Reviews and reactions

  • Film critic Taran Adarsh gave the movie five stars and said that director Atlee has delivered a masterpiece. 
  • A special screening of the movie was hosted at YRF studio in Andheri on Wednesday night attended by celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan, SRK's daughter Suhana Khan and others. 
  • Jawan's casting director Mukesh Chhabra called the movie an emotional rollercoaster, describing it as the best Pan India films ever made.

  • Rapper Rajakumari told paparazzi that she was screaming and crying throughout the film and that it was 'mindblowing'.

  • Among the flood of mostly positive reviews of Jawan, a few people said they were disappointed by the movie. An X user said the film failed to live up to the hype and only its action sequence and cinematography came to save the day.
