It has been over a week of top-quality football action at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. While we have seen thrilling encounters between top sides, some small teams have shocked us by beating the favourites.

Which teams have qualified? France are the first and only team to have booked their place in the last 16 after beating Denmark 2-1 on Saturday (November 26).

Teams that are knocked out: Qatar and Canada are already knocked out of the tournament after losing their first two matches. They will, however, play their remaining two games in the group stage.

Group A

Ecuador vs Senegal - 8:30 PM IST
Netherlands vs Qatar - 8:30 PM IST

  • Netherlands need to win or draw to qualify to the Round of 16. They can qualify even after losing the game, provided Ecuador beat Senegal.
  • Ecuador need to win or draw to qualify to the next round. They can still make it to the Round of 16 if they lose and Qatar beat the Netherlands.
  • Senegal need to win to qualify but can still reach the next round if they draw and Qatar beat Netherlands.

Group B

November 30:
Iran vs USA - 12:30 AM IST
Wales vs England - 12:30 AM IST

  • A win or a draw will confirm England's spot in the last 16. They can also qualify after losing the game depending on goal difference.
  • Wales need to win if they want to have any chance of progressing to the next round.

  • Iran need to beat the USA  to guarantee a spot in the Round of 16. A draw can also send them to the next round if Wales do not beat England. If this happens, goal difference will come into play.
  • USA have just one option if they want to get to the next round, and that is to win. A draw or a loss will knock them out of the World Cup.

Group C

December 1:
Poland vs Argentina - 12:30 AM IST
Saudi Arabia vs Mexico - 12:30 AM IST

  • Poland will go to the next round if they win or draw the next game against Argentina. But if they lose, and Saudi Arabia win, they will be out.
  • If Poland lose and Saudi Arabia draw, then the goal difference will come into play. If Poland lose and Mexico win, then again the team with better goal difference will go to the next round.
  • A win will confirm Argentina's place in the next round. They can also qualify with a draw if Mexico and Saudi Arabia also draw. But if they draw the game and Saudi Arabia win, Lionel Messi's team will be out. If they draw and Mexico wins, then again goal difference will come into play. If Argentina lose, they will be out.
  • Saudi Arabia will reach the Round of 16 if they win. A draw can also be enough for them if Poland defeat Argentina. But if both the matches are drawn, Saudi will be out.
  • If Argentina beat Poland and Saudi Arabia draw, the next round's spot will be decided on goal difference. A loss would mean Saudis are knocked out.
  • Mexico need to win to have any chance of making it to the next round. If both Mexico and Poland win, they will go through. If they win and Argentina and Poland draw, it will come down to goal difference. If Argentina win, goal difference will be required to separate Mexico and Poland.
