Lionel Messi is no stranger to fans and their crazy antics, but what greeted the 35-year old football star outside a restaurant in Buenos Aires on March 20 evening was perhaps a little too much for even him. (he looked quite in high spirits though)
Messi was mobbed by his ardent football fans while leaving the Don Julio restaurant in Palermo, in the Argentina capital, with his family on Monday evening.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has a massive and crazy fan following that always wants to know his whereabouts and what the football star is up to.
Several videos of Messi being mobbed outside the restaurant have surfaced on social media, with people talking about how he brought this Monday in Palermo to a complete halt.

Messi was having dinner with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their children when word spread that the football star was in the neighbourhood. Fans poured into the locality to have a glimpse of the World Cup hero, and shut down all the neighbouring streets in the process.
The Don Julio restaurant in Palermo that Messi was dining at, is famous for its steaks and finds a spot on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list.
However, Messi and his family could not finish their dinner as mobs thronged the restaurant to see him. Messi had to be escorted out of the restaurant by the local police.

In December 2022, Lionel Messi led Argentina to World Cup victory in Qatar, a feat that was last achieved 36 years ago by football GOAT Diego Maradona. The World Cup win made Messi a global sensation, and added to his fame at home in Argentina.
The PSG star is all set to play on behalf of Argentina against Panama this week for an international friendly. It is said that Messi could achieve a great feat for his football career by scoring one goal, that will take his current 799 total goals to 800 when Argentina wins from Panama and Curacao.
