[Poem] A fictional Congress member pours his heart out after being left out of hackathon

A series of hack-attacks has wreaked havoc on the Indian National Congress since Wednesday night. Rahul Gandhi, the Indian National Congress party’s vice president, was the first victim. His Twitter account was seen posting things that ranged from brutally honest, to downright racist and homophobic.

The Congress official Twitter handle was next; followed by their website, followed by Congress’ “Main Stream Media Communication” man, Rachit Seth’s Twitter account. There are those in the party who believe that the right-wing BJP supporters or even perhaps the people from BJP itself are involved in this attack. Similarly, there are those on the other side of the fence who believe that this is a ploy to gain sympathy.

A series of hack-attacks has wreaked havoc on the Indian National Congress since Wednesday night.

Or it may just be a cocky teenager with a computer, a VPN and some good internet access.

Whatever be the case, it may be that some within the Congress party may be feeling a little left out. After all, why target a select few of them, when all of them deserve this hate attack. Here’s an impassioned poem from a fictitious Congress member, who cries his heart out, for the want of a little bit of an attention.

  • Why not me?

  • Do I deserve any less?

  • Have I not cheered enough for the dynasty?

  • Have I not created enough mess?

  •

  • I am a blind hater of Modi too,

  • If that is what you are after.

  • Or do you only find Rahul Gandhi,

  • Worthy of all the laughter?

  •

  • My verified handle does its best,

  • To spew dumb and unverified facts,

  • To blame demonetisation for my phone hanging,

  • To quote “2002” in all my acts.

  •

  • I side with Kejriwal, when he mocks BJP,

  • I retweet every anti-Modi tweet I see,

  • Whenever someone says “1984”,

  • I become more silent than a dead tree.

  •

  • I pretend like Bofors never happened,

  • I act like I’ve never eyed coal,

  • When I heard the word “CWG”,

  • I stick my head in a hole.

  •

  • Then why, oh why, was I left out?

  • Is it because I’m not famous enough?

  • Or is it because I love the Congress any less?

  • Your feigned lack-of-care feels pretty rough.

  •

  • Maybe I should talk about poverty as a state of mind,

  • Maybe I should call us a default app,

  • Only then, would you probably think,

  • That I too, deserve this slap.

  •

  • Don’t leave me unhacked, my unknown hater,

  • For I have earned it too.

  • Maybe I should forget the 2G scam,

  • For then, I’ll earn your boo.

  •

  • But till then I wait,

  • My two factor authentication deactivated,

  • I want to see you be funny in my tweets,

  • Because I too, love to be hated.
