"Ram Ram Bhai Saryena, aaj hai mera 75 Hard..." (Ram Ram to everyone...today is my X day of the 75 Hard Challenge). If you use Instagram, you've probably come across this phrase in your reels. Among all the fitness challenges circulating on our beloved social media platforms, one of the most daunting is undoubtedly the 75 Hard Challenge.

When the 75 Hard Challenge was first introduced, it seemed nearly insurmountable yet promised to be transformative. Many people embarked on this journey but faltered along the way. However, one individual from India not only undertook the 75 Hard Challenge on Instagram but successfully completed it—Ankit Baiyanpuria.

Before we delve into who he is, let's explore the challenge itself and why accomplishing it was considered such an achievement.

The 75 Hard Challenge

As the name suggests, the 75 Hard Challenge entails adhering to a set of rigorous rules for 75 consecutive days without any exceptions or breaks. These rules include:

  • Strict Diet: Following a specific diet plan, such as clean eating or tracking macros, without indulging in cheat meals or junk food.
  • Twice-Daily Exercise: Completing two 45-minute workouts each day, with one taking place outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Hydration: Consuming a gallon (approximately 3.8 liters) of water daily to maintain proper hydration.
  • Personal Development: Reading a minimum of 10 pages of non-fiction literature daily for learning and personal growth.
  • Progress Tracking: Capturing a daily progress photo to monitor physical changes.
  • No Alcohol or Cheating: Abstaining from alcohol consumption and faithfully adhering to the chosen diet plan.

If you miss any of these daily tasks or deviate from the rules, you must restart the challenge from Day 1.

As you can see, it is a demanding challenge that requires unwavering commitment and time. Yet, Ankit Baiyanpuria not only completed the challenge but also extended it to an astonishing 105 days!

Who is Ankit Baiyanpuria?

  • Hailing from the small town of Bayanpur in the Sonipat district of Haryana, Ankit Baiyanpuria, also known as Ankit Singh, adopted his village name as his surname when he began his journey in wrestling, in line with tradition.

  • He completed his higher education in his hometown and is currently pursuing his graduation in Sonipat. His parents work as daily wage laborers, but Ankit has been dedicated to wrestling for the past 13 years.

  • However, Ankit's wrestling journey was far from smooth. In 2018, he faced a slip disc injury but persevered after significant recovery. Then, in 2020, a severe knee injury struck.
To make ends meet I have also done multiple jobs like labour work, worked as a Zomato delivery boy, etc.

  • However, it was in November 2022, during a wrestling match, that Ankit dislocated his left shoulder and suffered a rotator cuff tear. This forced him to step away from the ring for recovery.
  • It was during this downtime that he stumbled upon the 75 Hard Challenge on the internet and decided to give it a shot.

On June 27, 2023, Baiyanpuria embarked on the 75 Hard Challenge on Instagram, and on September 11th, he successfully completed it.

How did Ankit become viral?

This viral sensation now boasts more than 4.1 million Instagram followers and over 1.2 million YouTube subscribers. Before taking on the 75 Hard Challenge, Ankit primarily shared humorous Haryanvi videos on his YouTube channel.

However, thanks to this challenge, Ankit's following grew by more than 3 million in just 28 days.

Throughout the challenge, his videos received millions of views and garnered thousands of comments applauding his dedication.

His down-to-earth style of communication influenced many influencers who created their own videos, offering their unique take on the challenge.

On the day he completed the challenge, the 75th day, his video amassed an astonishing 21.2 million views and received more than 3 million likes.

Ankit is not only known for his distinctive video greeting, "Ram Ram Bhai Sareya Ne," but also for incorporating a variety of Desi Workouts, such as plowing fields and engaging in traditional Indian wrestling (kushti), which resonated with Indian audiences.

'Bhagvat Gita and Desi Wrestling'

In an interview, Ankit credited the Bhagavad Gita as his source of inspiration, emphasizing that the holy book motivated him more than anything else to persevere and complete the challenge.

When asked about the changes he experienced after completing the challenge, he mentioned that he not only improved physically but also became mentally stronger.

Now, Ankit is gearing up for his own version of the 75 Hard Challenge, extending it to an impressive 105 days.

Until then, Ram Ram!
