Canada-based Punjabi singer and rapper, AP Dhillon, has now weighed in on the ongoing Shubh controversy, just a day after the latter was forced to cancel his India tour for Still Rollin'.
A mere day after Shubh's India tour for Still Rollin' had to be cancelled, another prominent Canada-based singer and rapper, AP Dhillon, has chosen to address the outrage surrounding Shubh. AP Dhillon took to Instagram to convey his thoughts on the issue. In his statement, he emphasizes the importance of spreading "love, not hate."
Canadian Punjabi artist Shubhneet Singh, more popularly known as Shubh, has found himself in the midst of a heated controversy and severe backlash following his recent Instagram story where he shared a distorted map of India. The contentious map shared by Shubh notably excluded Jammu and Kashmir, and was accompanied by the caption "Pray for Punjab." This incident occurred during the ongoing tension surrounding the Khalistani issue.
The backlash amped up by such a scale that Shubh had to cancel his Still Rollin' India tour.
In his Instagram post, AP Dhillon accused political groups of exploiting the celebrity status of artists to further their personal agendas, while the artists themselves are merely striving to earn a livelihood through their art.
The singer concludes his statement by urging people to stand united and promoting unity as the key to a better future.
