The United Kingdom's (UK) Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation on Thursday (October 20) after a tenure of just 45 days. With her resignation, Truss became the shortest-serving PM in UK's history.
Ironically, just a day earlier, she had vowed to stay in power and said as a response to her critics that "She is a fighter and not a quitter."
Her resignation happened due the economic turmoil the UK is in right now, her 'mini-budget', tax-cuts vows and shattered investors' confidence in Truss. This enraged Conservative Party members which forced her resignation.
