A video circulating on social media on Wednesday, November 15, showed Nana Patekar smacking a fan trying to take a selfie with him.
The footage showed Patekar hitting a fan who approached him for a selfie, resulting in the fan being struck on the head before being pulled away by an individual nearby. Patekar has now addressed the incident.
In response to the viral video, Nana Patekar posted an apology on his Instagram account, explaining that the incident was part of a scene in his movie and was an unintended mistake.
He clarified, "A video is circulating where I appear to have struck a young man. Although this sequence is from our film and we had rehearsed once, we were scheduled for a second rehearsal. As I was about to start, the person shown in the video unexpectedly appeared. Unaware of his identity, assuming he was part of our crew, I enacted the scene by hitting him as scripted, instructing him to leave. Later, I learned he wasn't associated with our team."
He also said that after realising his mistake, he tried to contact the boy which he accidentally hit, but the boy ran away.
Take a look, at the video:
Anil Sharma, the director of the movie Nana Patekar was filming, confirmed to Aaj Tak that the viral video showing the actor slapping a boy taking a selfie was a scene from their upcoming project and not a real-life incident.
However, some on social media remain skeptical and expressed curiosity to see this particular scene in Patekar's movie.
