In the present day, when we rely on third-party apps for even our grocery deliveries, it can be quite inconvenient if any of these apps experience any kind of functionality issues. Mumbaikars are currently facing a similar situation when Swiggy temporarily suspended its services in many areas of Mumbai.

To understand why Swiggy riders are complaining, understand that a Swiggy's final payout to its delivery executives includes the base pay, along with other components that compensate for factors such as the distance travelled.

A lot of angry consumers took to X (Twitter) to complain about their order delays and about the fact that there was no delivery available in their areas. For instance, DailyO spoke to Anika Gupta (from Worli, Mumbai), who replied to us on Twitter saying that she relies on Swiggy's Instamart (the grocery delivery service) for her daily use of groceries and even late-night snacks. She said that the services were not available in her area.
Apart from her, a lot of other users also took to X (Twitter) complaining about the delayed services, saying that they were planning to switch to other services providing apps like Zomato, Zepto or Blinkit.

Hey @SwiggyInstamart @Swiggy @SwiggyCares, explain this to me how adding products and removing them makes your instamart closed and open.

Let me guess, you want to charge rain surcharge on Swiggy Instamart orders. You don't want the order price to be 200 and give free delivery pic.twitter.com/XyYWu9KAbq
@SwiggyCares @Swiggy I ordered at 5.35 pm. How is a 2 hour delivery an on-time delivery? And please don't fire delivery person as a counter-measure. Instead don't accept orders that are not supposed to be delivered on time. pic.twitter.com/gnfpfbCEYF

@SwiggyInstamart @Swiggy It has been more that 2.5 hours since my order on instamart. The support person says there are no delivery people( in central Mumbai, BKC ) and dont know how much more time it will take. But the thing that bothers me is resturant orders are working BAU ? pic.twitter.com/jjL1jfa4Eh

Even though Swiggy has not officially responded yet, when asked on Twitter, Swiggy blamed it on "operational constraints" for the delay. They also promised to start functioning "soon" in the affected areas.
As of now, we don't know when the strike will end.
