If you are visiting a fancy restaurant and encounter a service charge of Rs 900, what will you do? You might ask the restaurant to remove the charge. However, if you are a shy person who prefers to avoid conflict, you might end up paying the amount.
The service charge of 10% is something restaurants across India levy, but it is not mandatory to pay it. However, most fancy restaurants announce it on their menu itself that they levy a 10% service charge, hoping that the person reading it and then choosing to have a meal there would be okay paying the extra 10% of the bill.
But, in Delhi NCR, things can take a different turn. Stereotype or not, in Delhi or Delhi NCR, minor issues can quickly escalate into verbal arguments and even physical altercations. Now, add alcohol to it, and it gets far worse.
What
According to a recent viral video making the rounds on Twitter, there's a violent confrontation between customers and restaurant staff at Spectrum Mall in Noida's Sector 75. Why, you ask? The clash erupted due to a disagreement over the service charge which was Rs 970, resulting in an out-and-out physical fight between a family and the restaurant staff.
Authorities have reported that FIRs have been filed by both parties and the process of arrest is underway.

1. Bouncers kill man over an issue with bill
In April last year, a 30-year-old man was killed in a violent brawl with bar bouncers. Brijesh Rai, hailing from Hasanpura village in Bihar's Chhapra district, went to spend an evening with 5-6 colleagues at a bar called Lost Lemons in Gardens Galleria mall, Noida.
The atmosphere turned sour around 11 pm when a dispute erupted between their group and the bar's bouncers regarding the bill amount.
Unfortunately, Rai suffered severe head injuries during the ensuing fight, and despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his wounds at the hospital. This incident was caught on cam. See the video here:
2. Gurugram pub bouncers brutally thrash guests
In a horrifying incident that unfolded at a pub in Gurugram on August 8, 2022, guests were subjected to a brutal assault by the club's bouncers after a disagreement escalated into a violent clash. The fight was captured on camera by onlookers and passersby.
According to reports, the argument erupted when a woman from the group that was attacked alleged that one of the bouncers had inappropriately touched her. Upon confronting the accused bouncer, the woman's companions swiftly stepped in to support her, triggering a confrontation with other bouncers present at the scene.
The situation quickly spiralled out of control, leading to a violent fight.

3. Fight erupts between bouncers and couple for not leaving the club
In a late-night incident at Striker 29, a club in Gurugram's Sector 29 on January 11, 2023, a woman and her fiancé allegedly suffered injuries after an argument with bouncers turned physical around 2 am.
However, Sachin Limbu, the general manager of Striker 29, as reported by Indian Express, refuted the allegations of the couple being assaulted by bouncers.
The Club's explanation: Limbu explained that when the club was closing at 2.30 am, they requested the couple to leave, but the latter asked for more time. After half an hour, another request was made, leading to an argument where the couple boasted about connections in the police and influential positions. In response, a male and female bouncer escorted them out, which soon turned into a fight.
4. Violent brawl inside a club in Noida
This brawl erupted in a pub located in Noida's Gardens Galleria Mall on a Thursday night (December 29, 2022). The incident was of course captured on video, and quickly gained traction on social media.
According to authorities, the altercation took place at Sutra Gastropub when individuals from two groups, many of whom were in a drunken state, began forcefully pushing one another over some issue. The fight turned pretty nasty.
