Rajdeep Sardesai on Ashutosh, his former colleague

Ashutosh, the AAP leader, is an esteemed former colleague. He is also someone with a mind of his own.

The problem is: "independence" in journalism becomes a liability in politics where you have to toe the official line.

Not surprisingly then that Ashutosh's blog has embarrassed the AAP at a time when it is on the back foot on the sex CD involving its former minister. Ashutosh's provocative blog may have stirred a healthy debate if he were an edit page writer, but in politics it only makes the AAP look even more compromised. Lesson?
