Kejriwal is not the only singing CM, here’s a selection

To sing in public takes a lot of courage, especially when you know you are not a professional singer, but a professional politician. A lot goes into creating an image and being off-key can hurt that image. But the smart ones know, you do not need to be a trained singer to break into a song. Because that’s what the average voter does. Arvind Kejriwal sang a prayer the first time he took the oath of office. He repeated it today, with not a care in the world. In spite of a bad throat, thanks to the Crocin-fuelled confidence. Kejriwal was gloriously unbearable, and we loved it.

Here’s the video, followed by a collection of chief ministers, former and present, who dared to sing.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan singing on Independence Day. He is a habitual ‘offender’ and people love it.

Farooq Abdullah sings a Ram bhajan and he’s good at it. Feel the feel.

But when he sings in Kashmiri, he adds a twist or two. A man who dances to his own tune.

Goa CM Digambar Kamath singing Cantar. And laughs at his own singing.

Meghalaya CM Mukul Sangma singing a pop song. He is a Meghastar.

Sri Lanka, Northwest CM sings a tune Bollywood fans can guess.

Yes, you are right, this is the old Bollywood song that inspired the Dayasiri melody.

Montserrat Governor joins the chief minister singing Feeling Hot Hot Hot.

Canadian PM Stephen Harper singing Sweet Caroline. Sweet.

President Putin singing Blueberry Hill. Since he is Putin, he plays the piano too. Solo aane sach.
