Tejashwi Yadav marries Rachel Godinho, now Rajeshwari Yadav: 6 points from the grand wedding

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav married his longtime friend Rachel Godinho in the national capital today. Rachel is a Christian. Tejashwi, son of former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, had a close-knit wedding with Rachel Godinho at Sainik Farms in New Delhi. Since the morning, there were numerous bouncers at the venue to keep trespassers out.

It was Tejashwi's sister Rohini Acharya who broke the news of her brother's wedding yesterday. The RJD camp began their celebrations soon after. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi's eight other children and close family members arrived in New Delhi on December 8.

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED AT THE WEDDING OF TEJASHWI YADAV AND RACHEL GODINHO:

1. WEDDING AS PER HINDU RITUALS

Tejahswi Yadav’s sister Rohini Acharya confirmed that the couple got married as per Hindu rituals. Photos from the wedding show Tejashwi and Rachel performing the wedding rituals. Bihar MLA Tej Pratap Yadav was seen along with brother Tejashwi and sister-in-law Rachel.

2. SP SUPREMO AT THE WEDDING

Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, and his wife Dimple Yadav were also at the wedding function this afternoon.

3. WHO IS TEJASHWI YADAV'S WIFE?

Tejashwi Yadav married Rachel Godinho, who will now be known as Rajeshwari Yadav. Rachel is a Christian, and belongs to a non-political family. Tejashwi and Rachel studied together at Delhi Public School RK Puram in New Delhi. Rachel belongs to Rewari, Haryana, and lives in New Delhi’s New Friends Colony. In the past, Rachel has worked with Barclays. Ever since she started seeing Tejashwi, she took a break from her work and worked with Tejashwi on some projects.

4. FUNCTION AT SAINIK FARMS

The wedding ceremony took place at the Sainik Farm W8E, owned by Tejashwi's sister Misa Bharti, who is a Rajya Sabha MP. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi currently live with daughter Misa Bharti. 

5. FOOD AND DECORATION

The theme colours chosen for the decoration of the venue was pink and blue. The entrance to the venue was decorated with white and pink flowers. There was a lavish spread for the guests.

6. HIGH SECURITY AT THE VENUE

The venue, Sainik Farms, had heavy security. Each and every guest was thoroughly checked before they were allowed to enter the wedding venue. A three-layered security check was in place today.
