Cricket is more than a sport in India. It is full of emotions. It brings a smile on a million faces at the same time. It even leaves many tense, especially when it is an India-Pakistan face-off. It is a fun sport to binge on. And it becomes more fun with cricketers’ own commentary. But sometimes, they are caught off guard on the stump mic.
Many a time, cricketers lost their temper and lashed out on a fellow team player.
Indian cricketers mostly go all desi while guiding the other one. Rohit Sharma’s recent on-field remark has also made the audience go ROFL. We have seen many such moments on the field till date.

1. BHAAG KYU NAHI RAHA: ROHIT SHARMA
On Wednesday, during the second ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Captain Rohit Sharma was caught guiding Yuzvendra Chahal.
He said, "Ek kaam kar, peeche jaa... Kya hua tereko bhaag kyu nahi raha theek se? (Go backwards... What happened to you, why aren't you running properly?)"
Just like MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma is quite cool on the field. But this video is scary and funny at the same time.

2. UDHAR GIRLFRIEND NAHI HAI: MS DHONI
MS Dhoni, who was often referred to as 'Captain Cool', never lost his temper. But he never failed to show his witty side on the field. Dhoni’s many hilarious remarks were caught on the stump mic.
In November 2011, during the first Test against New Zealand, Dhoni made the funniest remark while setting the field. When Sreesanth missed his instructions, he said, "Oye Sree, girlfriend nahi hai udhar, idhar aaja thoda. (Sreesanth your girlfriend is not there, please come a little squarer)."
3. PUJARA KO UDHAR TAALI BAJANE NAHI RAKHA HAI: MS DHONI
Again, in 2014, during a Test match between India and New Zealand, Dhoni was heard directing his team in the funniest way possible. Ravindra Jadeja, who was the bowler that time, was asked to change his line.
Dhoni said, "Jaddu [Ravindra Jadeja] thoda off mein daal. [Cheteshwar] Pujara ko udhar taali bajane nahi rakha hai (Jadeja bowl on the off stump. Pujara is not standing there to clap)."
Dhoni never missed the opportunity to motivate his teammates. Once, he imitated the commentator and said, “Bharpoor bowling ka pradarshan karte hue Ravindra Jadeja (Ravindra Jadeja showing off pure bowling skills)!”
No doubt, we loved the Dhoni era.
4. ABEY KAALE: SARFARAZ AHMED
Former Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is often trolled on social media for his remarks. But he ended up making a racist comment on a South African player for which is received major criticism.
During the second ODI of Pakistan’s tour to South Africa in 2021, Sarfaraz was caught on the stump mic saying, “Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya parwa ke aaya hai aaj? (Hey black guy, where is your mother sitting? What prayer have you got her to say today?)." He said this to South African player Andile Phehlukwayo.
This invited consequences for obvious reasons. Sarfaraz was massively criticised on social media and by the ICC. He also received a suspension for 4 matches for this comment. Later, Sarfaraz apologised to Phehlukwayo, both publicly and personally.

5. “DO YOU BABYSIT?” TIM PAINE
The war of words between Rishabh Pant and Tim Paine during a Test series in 2018 became the talking point throughout the series.
After the fifth wicket, Pant walked in to bat. During the innings, Aussie skipper Paine asked Pant, “Do you babysit? I can take my wife to the movies while you watch the kids.”

This incident was followed by a post by Paine’s wife. She posted a picture with Rishab Pant and her kids and wrote, “Best babysitter.”
Pant later gave it back to Paine. When Paine came to bat, Pant mocked him for being a temporary captain. Pant said, “We’ve got a special guest today. Have you heard of a temporary captain ever? You don’t need anything to get him out boys. He loves to talk, that’s the only thing he can do, only talking talking.”
