Here is the latest on Johnny Depp and Amber Heard:

1. CHRIS ROCK PICKS A SIDE

Comedian Chris Rock who was recently embroiled in the Oscars 2022 controversy cracked a joke on Amber Heard during a comedy show in London on May 12.

Chris didn’t shy and took direct shots at Amber and the ongoing trial. "Believe all women, believe all women … except Amber Heard. What the f*** is she on? She s*** in his bed! She’s fine, but she’s not s****** fine. She s*** in his bed. Once you s*** in someone’s bed, you just guilty of everything. … What the f*** is going on there? Wow. And they had a relationship after that. It must be amazing p****. … I’ve been with some crazy b****** but goddammit," said the comedian

2. SNL DOES WHAT SNL DOES BEST

And that is…mock the ongoing trial through a sketch. On May 14, Saturday Night Live enacted a sketch, mocking the world’s fascination with the case's embarrassing details of the "cuckoo trial" (particularly over Depp’s testimony of discovering human fecal matter on his bed).

The sketch featured Kyle Mooney as Depp, Cecily Strong as the judge, Heidi Gardner as Heard’s attorney and Aidy Bryant as Depp’s attorney. Aidy begins the sketch by saying that Depp’s team has a surveillance video of Depp's house staff "discovering the alleged fecal matter on the bed".

While this is objected to Heard’s lawyer, the judge overrules the objection by saying, "This sounds like fun and this entire trial is for fun."

Midway, the judge asks Depp, "Mr Depp are you finding this trial amusing?" to which Depp replies, "A little, yes."

Check out the full sketch here:

Neither Depp nor Heard’s teams have yet commented on the sketch.

But fans are not impressed with SNL’s sketch. Here is what a few people are saying:

  • DISGUSTING AND DESPERATE
  • UN-SERIOUS ATTITUDE
  • LITTLE REGARD FOR SURVIVORS

The Italian-American actress and model wrote, "Wrong. She never had the power in the relationship to be abusive to him. Did she hit him? Yes. Was it abuse? No. You need to have power to be able to be abuse it. She was 25. He clearly was always way more powerful including physically and financially."

5. JENNIFER GREY SAYS THE TRIAL BREAKS HER HEART

Dirty Dancing alum and Johnny Depp’s ex-fiancée, Jennifer Grey (the pair were briefly engaged during their 9-month relationship in 1989) has weighed in on the ongoing trial.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Grey called the trial 'sad'. “All I can say about that trial is that it breaks my heart for everybody involved. I just think it's sad and I wish it was resolved and I just wish everybody well.”

Grey also described 1989 Depp as "sweet, and loving, and romantic, and crazy about me, and beautiful" in the same interview.

6. IS JOHNNY HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH HIS ATTORNEY?

After eagle-eyed fans noticed Depp’s warm behaviour towards his attorney, Camille Vasquez, a litigation associate at Brown Rudnick, rumours began that Depp is dating Vasquez. Numerous TikTok videos, by fans, have emerged that are 'shipping' the couple together.

But TMZ has clarified and shut down those rumours. Sources connected to Vasquez told TMZ that these rumours are only ‘fan fiction from social media’ and that Vasquez is currently dating a British real estate agent for several months.

Sources also told TMZ that everyone on Depp’s legal team is “buttoned up and they all are very close to their client -- it's become both a professional relationship and a friendship."

7. AMUL SAYS 'DEPP YOUR KNIFE IN'

Similar to SNL, Amul isn’t letting this opportunity go. Known for its comical yet lovable topicals, Amul released a doodle of Heard and Depp on each side, mid-testimony.

The caption on top reads, "Too much seen and Heard?" and in the end says, "Depp your knife in." While SNL has received backlash for its sketch, Amul has been lauded for its word play on its Instagram page.
