Bigg Boss 11 blog: Voting lines closed - is this a prank?

Did Bigg Boss just play a prank on the housemates?

The first episode of the year of Bigg Boss 11 had plenty of surprises folded inside it. And if you are thinking that the fact that Puneesh Sharma and Akash Dadlani being saved from the nomination tops the chart, then you are mistaken. The voting lines are closed this week. So, apparently while Puneesh and Akash are enjoying the fact that they are the first two finalists, the Bigg Boss might have something else up its sleeve.

Akash Dadlani was unputdownable

These beads apparently saved Akash from nomination

Bigg Boss put a rank stand at the lawn area for the six housemates, and asked them to occupy the positions, according to a consensus. It was difficult as everybody considered himself or herself as the winner. But Akash Dadlani was unputdownable with his no-brainer logic of being the best entertainer on the show.

Celeb, non-celeb divide

Nobody was happy, clearly

After 13 weeks, there was a clear divide between the celebs and non-celebs in the house. Puneesh, despite his closeness to Shilpa Shinde, said he only considered himself as the winner; not anyone, not even Shilpa. He also said that Shilpa, Hina and Vikas entered the house with a considerable fan following, while the rest, Luv Tyagi, Puneesh and Akash, were commoners.

Hina and Shilpa tried to prove that the logic was flawed as a celebrity like Hiten Tejwani had to leave the house, but the non-celeb unity was strong. It was decided that they would occupy the first three positions and the celebs would do with the last three.

Akash, Puneesh and Luv stood on the first, second and third positions respectively. Shilpa, Hina and Vikas stood on the rest three respectively. It was supposed to be a fun game, but then Bigg Boss announced that leaving the first two, rest four housemates will be nominated for this week’s eviction.

Shocked!

Voting lines closed

It was a sticky situation for Luv to get nominated along with the three celebrities. On the other hand, Shilpa and Puneesh were rejoicing the fact that this week Vikas would have to leave the house. But surprising the viewers, it was flashed on the screen that voting lines will be closed. However, the housemates are completely in dark about this so far.

'What made us so naïve'

After Priyank’s eviction, Vikas has mostly kept to himself. After Tuesday’s nomination, he was seen talking to Hina. Both were upset about the turn of the events. “What they did was fine. They played like they were in the semi-finals, and we played like we were in the second week. We should not have left the first three slots for them,” Hina said, while Vikas regretted that this might influence the audience. “If they think we ourselves see us at 5th or 6th positions, why will they vote for us? We didn’t even explain why we did that. It would have been so meaningless to cajole Akash. But we should have made it clear,” Vikas said. In a departure from their usual disagreement, both of them agreed that they would consider Shilpa as the winner of the show.
