Anup Jalota and Jasleen Matharu break-up: Whom should we blame?
We must analyse everything to our heart's content and find the culprit.
A month ago, the world (Twitter) didn’t know who this singer, performer, actor and model, Jasleen Matharu, was.
A month after, she is being trolled for her alleged break-up with veteran singer Anup Jalota on the sets of the reality show Bigg Boss 12. This comes weeks after both Jasleen and Jalota were trolled for their age-inappropriate relationship.
How funny is that?
Not funnier than the speed with which we process things without contemplating how real reality shows are.
Relationship has been a significant factor in this season, as this year, the reality show is a battle between couple-contestants (any kind of/siblings too) and single contestants.
When 65-year-old singer Anup Jalota entered the house with his 28-year-old student Jasleen, all hell broke loose. Jasleen’s father angrily gave interviews disapproving of the relationship, fuming how they were kept in dark about the romantic relationship apparently brewing under the camouflage of a teacher-student relationship.
Now, amid all the other usual chaos inside the house, Anup Jalota has announced his wish to discontinue the relationship as Jasleen refused to part with her clothes and a certain length of hair — which could have saved Anup Jalota from being nominated for eviction.
For starters, all this may come across as quite complicated. For the rest, it was just a task and colouring/cutting/shaving hair is some of the most tried-and-tested task of the game. (Apparently, they test how determined you are to win the task — in reality, everything is just content).
Initially, Jasleen agreed to perform the task.
But later, she changed her mind. Anup Jalota, on the other hand, didn’t like his girlfriend’s intense materialistic thoughts and nailed the final blow to the alleged relationship, which would have likely crumbled any day given their age-gap, according to relationship experts on social media.
Jasleen now looks like a loser, pleading with the veteran singer to reconsider the decision. In her defence, she has some serious justification. Being a singer, performer, actor, model she can’t sacrifice her hair; there’s life outside Bigg Boss house. Also, she can’t give away all her clothes as her parents don’t know her size and won’t be able to send new sets of clothes (worthy of being worn on television).

A number of people now hate Jasleen for using Anup Jalota as a launch pad — to become a familiar face on Indian television; then, not even being able to make little sacrifices to save the loved one.

Another set of people hate Anup Jalota — first, they are quite jealous of the Jalota-Jasleen alleged relationship; second, for dumping her on national television and being obstinate about it too. They expected more maturity from the singer.
According to conspiracy theories, there are chances that this break-up is scripted to make a safe passage for Jalota out of the show as he reportedly has a concert on October 27 in California.
Meanwhile, Jasleen’s father is on cloud nine.
Given such a tricky situation, we just have one solution. We must blame ourselves — for allowing ourselves to be bought by the Jasleen-Jalota relationship, to be enraged by it, and then to be heartbroken at their apparant break-up.
