Bigg Boss 9: Mandana plays dirty and no one likes rickshaws

Dirty, foul, violent, loud are just a few words to describe today's task in the Bigg Boss house. No, the viewers aren't complaining, but we were all shocked at the turn of events in the show today. Housemates, who had each other's back just a few weeks back, have resorted to nasty tricks to become the last man/woman standing in the Bigg Boss house. But hey, as long as the TRP game is strong, nobody objects.

The task divided the housemates into two teams: A and B.

Team A (Rochelle, Mandana, Rishabh, Digangana and Aman) and Team B (Kishwar, Suyyash, Puneet, Rimi and Prince) had to embark on a unique road trip across the country in a stationary rickshaw. One team was to board the rickshaw and stay put on it while constantly pedalling. The other team could use any means except physical contact, to make the rickshaw riders get off their ride. Every time the team on the rickshaw would cross a milestone while pedalling, they were required to perform a series of competitive tasks with the other team.

No sooner did the buzzer for the task go off, Team B took its position on the rickshaw and members of Team A playfully started throwing water to annoy their opponents. Things got dirtier when Team A started shelling out house ration and spices from the kitchen to throw at Team B. Puneet, who was calmly sitting on the rickshaw could no longer tolerate the wastage of his favourite spice by Mandana and in true Indian politician style announced that "Us Hindustanis need Haldi in our food". Mandana, obviously being the foreigner, doesn't need haldi in "her" food and therefore felt the need to throw it at others in the task, explained Puneet. Perhaps, sometime in the future we see Patriotic Puneet leading an intolerance march against wastage of Indian spices by foreigners?

Assigning a task without physical violence seems ironical as the contestants did everything to ensure the other team was physically hurt. Apart from vandalism of property (Aman breaking an umbrella in order to stop Team B from pedalling), dumping garbage, soil, concoctions made in the kitchen and even spraying mosquito repellents on the other team, seemed highly violent acts. Damage to personal belongings of the housemates proved that the task was used to settle personal scores as well.

With the first milestone reached, contestants had to perform a rather fishy task quite literally. Both the teams had to transfer dead fish from one dish into another by just using their mouth. The cringe worthy task was won by Team A, who nominated Prince to be removed from the other team. But he, in a true good boy-turned-bad style, decided to rebel against the decision and in turn supported his team by stealing fruits and as well as pulling out Mandana's clothes from her suitcase and giving it to his teammates who refused to return them to her and also soiled and damaged them beyond repair.

The next to milestone tasks were both won by Team B. One was a Dhokla eating contest and another, a Kabaddi match, both won by Suyyash. With every task, the hatred between the two teams only grew manifold. A quiet Rimi, who calmly played her game was also questioned by the other team about her exceptional tolerance skills. Rishabh called her 'the first contestant ever to be a contender by simply being an observer in the house'.

As tomorrow the role reverses and Team A takes its turn on the rickshaw, expect more confrontations, violence and tears. This just might be the most uncomfortable rickshaw ride we have ever experienced!
