DailyOh! When you can buy Baba Ramdev’s Coronil, to why Nirmala Nagpal became Saroj Khan

The yoga guru says the ‘corona cure’ could be available at your doorstep.

We are going through some testing times - quite literally. India has so far tested 70,00,000 people for the coronavirus using RT-PCR method and close to 4,65,000 of these have tested positive. RT-PCR is the most trusted test to detect the virus. There is the antigen test too, which can give results within 30 minutes, but the tests have a catch. According to guidelines, all positive antigen tests are confirmed positive, but all negative tests should be retested using RT-PCR. So the RT-PCR has confirmed that close to 2,59,000 of those who had tested positive have now tested negative after receiving treatment.

What is the exact treatment? None so far. There are various drugs that doctors say have helped people beat the virus, but there is no drug that provides 100 per cent guarantee to reduce the coronavirus count in the body to nil. One man, however, says he can. That man is yoga man Baba Ramdev. No, he isn’t suggesting yoga alone can do that. He is saying Coronil, an Ayurvedic drug, by itself can.

Baba Ramdev’s Rambaan, which promises to shoot down the coronavirus to nil, Coronil, is our Word Of The Day. Because in a corona-infested world, we have no qualms about being obsessed about finding a corona cure. Coronil is self-explanatory, actually. Corona + Nil. Done.

Ramdev says Coronil has shown 100 per cent success rate in clinical trials conducted on coronavirus patients. Now, who were the patients who went to Patanjali and not hospitals, to get treated, is a matter of investigation. Authorities in Uttarakhand, where Patanjali held its 'trials', have already begun the process to find out who gave the company required permission to carry out the required trials.

So basically the company said it wanted to test an immunity booster and found a corona cure. Serendipity there? Don't try answering that because only Patanjali can do that. Ayush Ministry has asked Patanjali to answer it.

Ayush Ministry has told Patanjali to give details of the clinical trial. Patanjali has sent the details asked for. Now, medicines cannot be sold in the market without regulatory clearance.

So, Coronil will have to undergo more trials to see if it can help positive patients turn negative. The drug that promises 100 per cent recovery from Covid-19, comes laden with over 100 compounds. And Coronil is not to be taken alone. It needs to be taken with along with Swasari Vati, and oil called Anu Oil. You don’t have to go looking for all this in deep, dark jungles. Baba Ramdev is offering it as part of his Corona Kit, priced at Rs 545.

The price of the product has been fixed but just when you can buy it - that is if you plan to - is undecided because the Ayush Ministry has asked Patanjali to not market the medicine till a government task force clears it. If cleared, the medicine could reach your doorstep because the Yoga Man said you can order it online through a mobile app from next Monday, which happens to fall on June 29.

Meanwhile, a lot many have started talking about the benefits of Ayurveda and how Ayurveda isn’t quackery but science, so we will leave it to scientific tests to find answers to the efficacy of Coronil in the collective fight to convince corona that it is time to go.

Before that convincing exercise is completed, Novak Djokovic has tested positive for coronavirus. He has apologised for the same. No, not on behalf of the virus but on his own behalf. That is because it is one thing to get caught by the virus and quite another to court arrest. Djokovic's Adria Tour competition where the tennis ace courted the virus is said to have distanced itself from all social distancing norms. Seeing is believing and so you must see it to believe it.

Mistakes happen. If a person says sorry for what happened, we must let the matter rest. But keep an eye on the person to test if the sorry was really meant. How to test that? See if the person deliberately repeats what she does once.

One thing that Djokovic’s positive result has proven is that going herbal is good but not a 100 per cent guarantee against the virus. Djokovic took the herbal way long ago, when he began eating blades of grass from the Wimbledon tennis court.

The tennis star’s traditional Wimbledon victory celebration includes kneeling down, grabbing a few blades of grass and tasting them. Why does he do that? He does it now because it is a tradition. But he did it for the first time because he wanted to do something crazy. Djokovic says he dreamt of winning the Wimbledon title as a child and when he actually won it as an adult, he wanted to mark the occasion by doing something crazy. We guess he continues to have a huge appetite for doing crazy things. Who goes jumping and dancing shoulder-to-shoulder and body-to-body in the times of corona? Crazy people.

This reminds us of a song, which we want to remind you of, shot shoulder-to-shoulder and body-to-body in a pre-corona world.

Those dancing steps were choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant, but Bollywood’s most famous choreographer is in hospital. In fact, she has been in hospital since Saturday after being taken there for breathing problems. We are talking about Saroj Khan. The 71-year old choreographer was tested for coronavirus and the results were negative.

But do you know that Saroj Khan was once called Nirmala Nagpal? That was before she converted to Islam. People in India are free to practise and profess any religion they want to practise and profess, but there is a reason why Nirmala felt she needs to become Saroj.

Nirmala Nagpal reportedly lost a baby girl. As a mother, she was distraught. She would often dream of the baby girl standing inside a mosque and ushering Nirmala in. This is why the choreographer walked up to Juma Masjid in Mumbai and converted.

As she fights her ailments in hospital, we wish her a speedy recovery. We guess the recovery could be faster if she sees some of her own iconic works.

That will be all for today.

We will see you tomorrow.
