A total of 4 people have succumbed to the virus yesterday in the country. Karnataka has also reconciled its data and added 42 deaths to th daily numbers.

DELHI'S COVID SITUATION

Delhi is responsible for almost half of the fresh cases in India. On Thursday, the national capital reported 1,490 fresh Covid cases with 2 fatalities.

However, the Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendar Jain said that the hospitalisation rate is low. He stated that immunity against the virus developed after vaccination and anti-bodies post prior infection have reduced the severity of the Covid, resulting in less hospitalisation.

As schools are now open in Delhi with full attendance, children are getting infected by the virus. But the Delhi Health Minister has asked parents not to panic as children are not experiencing severe symptoms.

VACCINATION FOR KIDS

A few days ago, the Drugs Controller General of India approved emergency use of two vaccines against Covid for children under the age of 12 years. These two vaccines are Biological E’s Corbevax and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin.

India’s drug regulator had ruled that Corbevax can be given to children aged 5-12 years, and children aged 6-12 years can be vaccinated with Covaxin.

The body will also discuss the gap between the second dose and the booster dose.

We have already observed these patterns of Covid infection in the past. Falling in the same trap due to careless behaviours is not wise. Therefore, mask up, wash your hands and get vaccinated.
