In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Blur and Gorillaz leader Damon Albarn had some choice things to say about Taylor Swift. Albarn said that the 11-time Grammy winner did not write her own songs and when contested by the interviewer, Albarn simply said that co-writing is not the same, and that Swift's music is endlessly upbeat.
Ahead of his show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Damon Albarn discusses his dual citizenship, the impending 25th anniversary of Blur’s self-titled 1997 LP and the legacy of the band’s biggest American hit, “Song 2.” https://t.co/4Obt2Fjpoi

By simply Googling, Albarn would have known that Swift has actually, singularly, written 3 out of the 11 albums she has released, including Fearless and Speak Now. The singer and songwriter has also won an Emmy Award, 12 Country Music Association Awards, 25 Billboard Music Awards, 34 American Music Awards and holds 55 Guinness World Records. She also regularly features on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time.
Swift hit back on Albarn's claim and responded to Damon Albarn on Twitter. She said, "I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really f**ked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW."
@DamonAlbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really fucked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW. https://t.co/t6GyXBU2Jd

I can’t believe people have the audacity to discredit one of the best songwriters of our time. This is way past opinion. This is personal and intentional. We love you Taylor! This guy clearly can’t open the realm of quality in his mind to give credit to your incredible catalog.
